One of the most important problems facing our nation, and the rest of the world, is climate change. Yes, many people have stopped calling it Global Warming because it is much more than that. The excess carbon emissions have affected the climate all over the world, if we don’t get it under control soon our children and grandchildren will have to pay the price. There are cities in the US, and around the world that have smog coating the air every day make it nearly impossible to breathe easily. With more and more trees and other plants being cut down every day it is getting harder to efficiently clean the air seeing as there are less plants to take in the carbon dioxide and expel oxygen that we can breathe.
Now, even though this is a massively important problem for our nation and our world, the presidential candidates running for the 2016 election do not talk about it as much as I wish they would. Donald Trump, one of the leading Republicans, has little to no belief in climate change. He claims that the weather is not changing. On various tweets on Twitter he claimed that since there was cold weather somewhere in the world, Global Warming cannot exist. I can see why Trump does not agree with the idea of Global Warming, especially man-made Global Warming. Yes, not everything is melting and there are still freaky cold weather incidents around the world. But, there is scientific evidence that the climate has been changing drastically (as in more than expected) over the last hundred years. 97% of publishing scientists back up the idea of climate change even if they don’t all support it. Donald Trump’s position on climate change is very weak in evidence, where is his evidence that climate change does not exist (besides what he sees, which is purely subjective, rather than basing it off of cold-hard facts)?
