Why I Chose Animas High School...
I chose Animas High School for many reasons. I wanted a small school, I liked the idea of project based learning, and I wanted a school where I could be myself. Ever since I was little I have liked small crowds. The main high school here was not small in my eyes, almost all the student from both the middle schools went there. I know that to many people who live in cities, having just two middle schools go to a high school may not seem that big, but to me it was huge. Each time I walked into the high school I felt overwhelmed and I did not like that feeling. The idea of project based learning was new to me. In my other schools we mostly did work out of text books but when we did do projects I felt like I actually learned more, and the classes where we did do projects were the classes that I actually wanted to always go to. At my old schools I never really felt like I was able to be myself, I always felt like I was being judged even by the people who were the closest to me. I never really like being judged so going to Animas was a relief because each day I don't really feel like people are watching how I act to see if they should be nice to me or not. Ever since I have started going to Animas I have met new people who like me for who I am and I don't regret coming to Animas one bit.
